Presentación
Gustavo Castillo Estrada, a Mexican singer, began his musical studies at the Faculty of Music of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Konzertgesang und Musiktheater at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, completing his master’s in Konzertgesang under the guidance of renowned mentors such as Sylvia Greenberg, Donald Sulzen, and Michael Hartmann.
Throughout his career, he has excelled in genres like oratorios, chamber music, and contemporary music. He was a member of the now-defunct Break Out Ensemble, collaborating with distinguished composers such as Diana Syrse Valdez, Moritz Eggert, Carlos Cipa, and Sam Penderbayne. Since 2022, he has actively participated in ensembles like Vertixe Sonora, focused on promoting new music, and Nikan Ompa, dedicated to spreading Latin American music from the colonial and viceregal periods.
In addition to his performing career, Gustavo is recognized for his commitment to vocal pedagogy, particularly in contemporary techniques and resources, and choral direction. Since 2016, he has served as a teacher at the Münchner Volkshochschule.
